- Provide information to physicians regarding lab aspects of IVF treatment
- Practice safe procedures in handling human gametes and embryos
- Practice aseptic techniques and handle infectious samples (HepB, HepC and HIV)
- Maintain a clean and functional laboratory
- Perform quality control and quality assurance tests
Ensure proper maintenance of equipment - Prepare detailed patients’ IVF laboratory reports
- Monitor and report all adverse events and incidences
- Continue education through literature reviews, conferences and educational courses
- Participate in ART accreditation and Health Canda processes
- Cooperate with research team on various projects
- Maintain CFAS requirements for certification
- Active role in monitoring and improving patient safety as it applies to the duties and responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize work, attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross functional team, maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and patients
- Proven desire to work in the healthcare field by demonstrating care of others as expressed in various ways including professionalism
- Exercise good judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Masters degree in biological, or medical technology or ART
- CFAS Embryology Certification preferred
- Previous experience in ART laboratory of at least two or more years preferred
