Position Summary
Pharmacist Trainee, Pharmacy Services
The Pharmacy trainee will support services provided by the Pharmacy Department. These include but are not limited to:

Medication distribution and pharmacy operation activities

Conducting best possible medication histories (BPMH)

Projects as assigned

The Pharmacy trainee will be expected to work full-time during the summer months and at least 2 shifts per month during the academic year. During the summer months, the Pharmacy trainee will have opportunities to participate in clinical activities such as shadowing of pharmacists on nursing units and attending educational sessions.

All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and others by ensuring that health and safety policies and regulations are followed.

On a practical level, you will

• Contribute to the day-to-day operation of essential Pharmacy drug distribution and support

• May include sterile and non-sterile compounding, barcoding and receiving, stock check and replenishment, and other drug distribution related activities

• Providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies and regulations are followed

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate pharmacy program at an CCAPP or ACPE-accredited Canadian University

Have just completed year 1 of the Pharmacy program

Previous pharmacy assistant experience an asset

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Effective written and verbal communicative skills

Demonstrated interpersonal skills
