As an integral member of the Cancer Rehab and Survivorship Program (CRS) and a Regulated Health Professional, the therapist filling this role will be responsible for the delivery of clinical programming and education related to rehabilitation from treatment for cancer. Primary involvement will be completing comprehensive assessments of new patients and providing follow up appointments based on patient needs.
The person filling this role would ideally have completed decongestive therapy (CDT/CLT) training and be able to provide CDT support to patients with lymphedema including education, compression therapy, bandaging and massage teaching.
Other duties include: using health coaching skills to improve adherence to patient goals; facilitating virtual lymphedema classes; monitoring/stocking/ordering of lymphedema supplies; discharge planning for patients upon program completion; liaising with community partners and updating community CDT and ADP lists; triaging referrals; completing documentation in a timely manner; quality assurance, administrative, and program related marketing activities; support with clinical research activities; teaching of learners/observers;
liaising with members of the interdisciplinary team; and other duties as assigned.
