As Canada’s largest mental health care provider, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health provides evidence to drive system and policy change through the implementation of innovations and novel service delivery interventions. The Research Operations, Services and Support (ROSS) Office is a central group within CAMH Research that provides administrative support to ensure that all research activities carried out at CAMH or by CAMH personnel comply with funder, governmental or institutional policies and regulations.

We are seeking a full-time, contract (1-year) Program Officer to support and coordinate key initiatives and processes related to project management, implementation and communications of major philanthropic gifts in research, including, but not limited to womenmind
TM and the Women’s Health Research Cluster
. Reporting to the Manager, Philanthropic Gifts in Research, and in close collaboration with the Manager, Research and Centres of Innovation Communications and the Communications and Partnership team, the incumbent will be responsible for planning and coordinating a range of projects that aim to disseminate health research to diverse audiences. You will leverage your direct experience in health research to conceptualize and create strategic high-quality communications and media content for a variety of print and electronic platforms.

This role will lead event coordination, including in-person and online events. Writing and event support will be key activities in this role, as will building and maintaining relationships across the hospital and with stakeholders.

This position will involve working between both our Queen Street and College Street sites.

In this role you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of new and existing initiatives and provide day-to-day operational support to program leads
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key team members across CAMH and at stakeholder organizations
  • Develop and implement communications strategies and knowledge translation activities, including social media and newsletter content creation
  • Maintain and update Word Press website
  • Coordinate key events (in-person, hybrid, virtual) including a seminar series, and provide support in organizing an annual conference as well as partner events
  • Execute and track success of plans to increase the reach of, and engagement with, our Knowledge Translation (KT) initiatives
  • Organize and coordinate event-based knowledge translation and capacity building initiatives
  • Coordinate and manage processes for part-time student staff, who support events and blogs
  • Monitor the progress of project activities; develop and maintain records of project activities and prepare reports as required
  • Contribute to strategy development and implementation to advance research in women’s mental health and supporting women in the sciences
