Starting Salary

Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

About the
Clinical Simulation Technologist
Role:

Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Clinical Simulation Technologist supports the operation and delivery of simulation activities across the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences. This role is responsible for operating simulation technology and audiovisual systems, preparing and maintaining simulation spaces, and supporting faculty and students during simulation-based learning.

The Technologist collaborates closely with the Simulation Operations Coordinator, Clinical Operations Coordinator, Simulation team, faculty, and academic program coordinators to ensure simulation activities align with curriculum goals and provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities. Responsibilities include running pre-programmed simulation scenarios, supporting open student practice, preparing equipment and moulage, maintaining inventory, and assisting with interprofessional simulation initiatives.

This role is technical and facilitative in nature, focusing on enabling high-quality learning experiences across a range of simulation modalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate simulation equipment and computerized simulators during scheduled learning activities

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain simulation labs, supplies, and audiovisual systems

  • Support faculty with simulation scenario implementation and technical delivery

  • Assist with moulage, props, and environmental setup to enhance realism

  • Provide support for open student practice and simulation access

  • Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment and technology

  • Assist with inventory control, cleaning, and equipment maintenance

  • Collaborate with faculty and program teams to support curriculum-integrated simulation
