POSTION

SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst for the Smart Chart Project (Cerner) is responsible for workflow analysis & process redesign, communication within the project and clinical teams, maintenance of the Cerner system.

SKILLS/

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Health Science / Health Informatics or equivalent degree/ work related experience
  • Computer skills to include querrying databases, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of clinical processes and experience in health care environment is an asset.
  • Business process analysis experience
  • Two year’s recent, related experience
  • Results oriented and able to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to set and meet priorities
  • Knowledge of and experience in systems analysis and design

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works collaboratively with the clinical areas in analyzing and defining business processes
  • Assist in the implementation of new business processes
  • Works collaboratively with others to identify opportunities for improving information management processes in all areas of the organization.
  • Participates in the identification and development of educational programs and resources to support staff adoption of information technology solutions.
  • Provides leadership in the identification and development of policies and procedures related to informatics initiatives.
  • Basic project planning skills
  • Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of the electronic health record.
  • Works with project team in design, implementation and maintenance of changes to business processes.
  • Develops and implements contingency planning
  • Must be able to work overtime on weekdays, weekends and holidays as required by system support and maintenance
  • Must be part of the “on call team”, providing support to end users after hours
