Position: Relief Floor Counsellor at The Salvation Army
Provide essential support to clients in residence at The Salvation Army as a Relief Floor Counsellor in Toronto, ON. This part-time role focuses on modeling life skills and ensuring safety and security.
In this vital role, you will supervise and assist clients during your assigned shifts. Bringing a diploma in human services, you will employ solid interpersonal and counseling skills to support men facing addiction and mental health issues. Effective crisis management and communication will be key as you collaborate with your treatment team and assist in client admissions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise clients and promote healthy socialization

• Guide new clients in their orientation process

• Manage safety procedures on residential floors

• Monitor client medications and conduct necessary screenings

• Document client interactions and assessments
Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in human services

• Experience supporting clients with addiction or mental health issues

• Strong communication skills

• Certification in First Aid/CPR and crisis intervention

• Proficiency with MS Office
