Become a key player in mental health recovery as a Peer Specialist, offering services in inpatient and outpatient settings. Engage recipients with education and support in their healing journeys.
As a Certified Peer Specialist, your mission is to provide direct mental health services to individuals across various environments, including community support programs. Draw on your personal experiences to educate recipients about self-help techniques. Your guidance will assist clients in defining rehabilitation goals while fostering coping strategies and building a supportive network.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate direct mental health services for clients
• Educate on self-help techniques and group processes
• Assist clients in setting and achieving goals
• Deliver effective coping strategies built on experience
• Encourage hope and self-esteem in recovery journeys
Requirements:
• Valid New York Certified Peer Specialist certification
• Experience in the mental health field preferred
• Knowledge of self-help techniques
• Excellent advocacy and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting clients in personal growth
