Position Summary
Join the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging departments in Canada. JDMI processes over 750,000 exams annually and is staffed by more than 700 employees and 90 specialized radiologists. As a member of Team JDMI, you will provide essential administrative support to health professionals and leaders within a multi‑site department that is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute of Education.
Duties- Answering, screening, and triaging telephone calls.
- Receiving patients and visitors coming in for tests, procedures, and appointments.
- Scheduling patients for tests, special procedures, and urgent or emergency appointments.
- Following established procedures to ensure efficient flow of patients and appointments.
- Providing routine clerical support services.
- Completion of a post‑secondary certificate up to one year in Office Administration or a recognized equivalent.
- Six months to one year of experience using computer applications or a health information system such as EPIC or Microsoft Office.
- At least one year of front‑line customer service experience.
- General knowledge of office practices, processes, and procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Knowledge of RIS and CD burning software (preferred).
- Experience working in a health‑care environment (asset).
- Knowledge of a second language (asset).
- Competitive hourly wage: CAD $27.27 – $28.07.
- Union representation: CUPE TG.
- Member of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).
