Medical Lab Assistant (OPSEU LAB) – part time, 0 to 20 hours per week. Shift schedule flexible across mornings, afternoons, and late nights. This position is covered by the OPSEU LAB collective agreement. Starting ASAP. One position available.

• Unpack and sort incoming specimens from physicians, clinics, hospitals, and mobile Life Labs technicians.
• Confirm accuracy of patient information on requisitions and specimens; resolve issues and enter data as required.
• Prepare, sort, and separate specimens for technical analysis.
• Respond to client inquiries and cooperate with the logistics department.
• Train and orient new team members.
• Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Follow all laboratory safety and security policies and regulations.

• Successful completion or graduation from a recognized Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) program is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment; detail oriented, able to focus, prioritize, and multi‑task.
• Data entry and computer skills.
• Committed to staying current with company practices, training, policies and procedures.
• Prior experience in laboratory operations or medical terminology is an asset.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external departments.
• Ability to maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality standards.
