Pharmacy Technician

Position: Baycrest Pharmacy Technician Role
Join Baycrest Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician and contribute to quality patient care through effective medication management. This temporary full-time role requires your expertise in dispensing and preparing medications.

As a critical part of the pharmacy team, the Pharmacy Technician will be involved in various technical functions, including drug preparation and inventory management. This position follows a shift schedule that includes day and evening hours, with occasional weekends. You will ensure that all medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently to designated hospital units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in all aspects of drug distribution and repackaging

• Ensure accuracy in dispensing narcotic and controlled drugs

• Operate pharmacy technology and maintain accurate records

• Compound both non-sterile and sterile pharmaceutical products

• Manage inventory and monitor medication expiry dates

Requirements:

• Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program or equivalent

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists

• Preferred one year of experience in a hospital environment

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Familiarity with pharmacy automation and Meditech
