Provide quality care as a Speech Language Pathologist at Michael Garron Hospital, focusing on swallowing and communication impairments. Engage in multidisciplinary teamwork primarily within General Internal Medicine and Stroke departments.
You will be accountable to the Manager of Professional Practice and responsible for assessments, treatment, and patient education. The role requires participation in clinical education and team onboarding, with additional coverage in ICU and other specialized areas. Weekend rotations are necessary, highlighting your commitment to patient care across varied clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and treatments for communication impairments
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Educate and counsel patients and families effectively
• Participate in clinical education and staff onboarding
• Provide coverage across various hospital departments
Requirements:
• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Registered with CASLPO in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years acute care hospital experience
• Experience with video fluorographic swallow studies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
