Reporting to the Senior Manager, Newcomer Services, you will offer high-quality counseling to refugees and underserved individuals. You will address cognitive and emotional health challenges while employing culturally sensitive approaches. Skills for Change stands out for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion amid a rich 40-year history of innovative community programming.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct client intake and assessments via preferred methods
• Coordinate wraparound services with caseworkers and community partners
• Facilitate psychoeducation sessions on mental wellness topics
• Maintain accurate client case notes and follow up
• Manage data entry in mental health services systems
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or counseling psychology
• Minimum 2 years of related counseling experience
• Registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques
• Valid First Aid Certificate required
