Unity Health Toronto is seeking a qualified Lab Technician to manage specimen registration and preparation effectively. Candidates must hold a Laboratory Assistant/Technician Program credential and have strong data handling skills. You will ensure specimens are accurately processed, sorted, and delivered, providing essential support within the hospital laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register specimens and verify data entry in LIS system

• Perform pre-analytical procedures like centrifugation and media preparation

• Sort and deliver specimens to various workstations

• Prepare specimens for external send-out and manage inventory

• Respond to customer inquiries about laboratory services

Requirements:

• Completion of recognized Laboratory Technician Program

• OSMT or CSMLS certification required

• At least 1 year of experience in Microbiology preferred

• Proficient in specimen handling and data entry

• Must work rotating shifts and weekends as needed
