Counsellor Role with Parkdale Queen West

Make a difference as a full-time Counsellor at Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre in Toronto, focusing on mental health for underserved communities. Your expertise will drive short-term counselling programs.

As a key member of the mental health team, you will serve individuals 16 and older. Utilizing trauma-informed care and evidence-based modalities, you will conduct assessments and develop therapeutic groups to meet client needs.

Your role includes participating in clinical supervision and working collaboratively with community organizations to fill service gaps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical counselling services to diverse clients

• Conduct therapeutic assessments to form treatment plans

• Develop and lead therapeutic group sessions

• Maintain accurate electronic health records

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies

Requirements:

• Graduate degree in relevant discipline

• Current membership with OCSWSSW or CRPO

• 3-5 years counselling experience in a community setting

• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches

• Skills in couple’s counselling or perinatal mental health are assets
