Infection Prevention Manager

Position: Infection Prevention Manager at Extendicare
Become the Infection Prevention and Control Manager at Extendicare Guildwood. Lead the IPAC program and ensure compliance while managing staff performance in Scarborough, Ontario.

This position involves overseeing infection control initiatives at Extendicare Guildwood Home, part of a respected clinical team. You will work closely with management and staff, training them on infection prevention protocols and conducting audits. Your expertise will ensure the home adheres to provincial standards and Extendicare's policies while maintaining the highest safety measures for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the LTC home’s IPAC program

• Conduct IPAC audits and perform risk assessments

• Train staff, residents, and care providers on practices

• Supervise and evaluate staff performance related to IPAC

• Collaborate with public health units and consultants

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• 3-5 years’ health care experience, 2-3 years in IPAC

• Current Certification in Infection Control preferred

• Knowledge of infection prevention principles

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
