Summary of Duties
- Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in Main SB/HC Department, Emergency Department and or in the OR as required, including evening, weekend and call shifts
- Performs and troubleshoots required care and maintenance of ultrasound and medical imaging equipment as required to ensure they are performing in a effective and manner.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obs/gyn, small parts, breast, MSK, neurodoppler, vascular, and u/s guided procedures including CEUS
- Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
- Prepare and Maintains adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy and procedures
- Collaborates and participate in teaching, research, educational, safety and quality improvement programs.
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
- ARDMS Registration Meme of the CMRTO
- Current BCLS certification
- Minimum 3 years’ recent ultrasound technologist experience in a similar/related setting required
- Ability to work a variety of shifts and on call rotation
- Excellent organizational skills, able to organize and prioritize work.
- Proven time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, and also at times independently.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making, problem recognition and problem solving skills
