At UHN we work to develop new MRI protocols and procedures for cardiac, breast, neuro, abdominal and pelvic, oncological and musculoskeletal (MSK) areas. Through protocol development, we can assist in quicker diagnosis and treatments for our patients.
MRI recently introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of the MRI clinical workflows across the complete fleet of 7 scanners, as a first department.

Duties- Assisting in Patient Preparation for MRI Exams
- Reviews MRI Safety Screening questions with patients per standards of practice under supervision of MRI Technologist (Training provided)
- Provides exam explanation (Training provided)
- Preparation and cleaning of Equipment for Patient exams including MRI equipment in Magnet room under supervision of MRI Technologist
- Coordination of Patient exams for optimal utilization and efficiency in collaboration with MRI Technologist
- IV Insertions (Training provided)
- Documentation of Patient Information
- Completion of Secondary School
- Completion of international medical radiation technology program or other medical program, preferred
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in a challenging situation
- Demonstrated strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice
- Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
- Ability to learn new skills, and adapt to process changes
- Demonstrated good work performance and attendance history
- Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities
- Effective computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills including thorough formal clinical documentation
- Ability to work variable shifts
