Community Outreach Child and Family Therapist

Join the Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health as a Child and Family Therapist, providing critical mental health services at the Sheppard site. Work with diverse families to ensure effective care access.

This full-time, five-month contract under the Community Outreach & Intervention Initiative (COII) focuses on assisting families who face barriers to traditional therapy. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team while offering personalized assessment and treatment. Engage actively in community outreach efforts to ensure high-quality mental health support for clients in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute individual and group therapy services

• Engage with community stakeholders to enhance service accessibility

• Manage client cases and ensure continuous follow-up

• Maintain thorough documentation for treatment plans

• Coordinate virtual care options as necessary

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in a relevant mental health field

• Three-plus years of clinical experience in mental health

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Familiarity with therapeutic engagement methods

• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
