Position Summary
The successful candidates will support Laboratory Medicine by performing ECG, Venipuncture on inpatients/outpatients as well as Specimen Management duties. The division of Specimen Management specializes in specimen procurement and processing for all UHN sites. As a valued member of Team LMP, you will play a key role in providing high quality preanalytical services to clinical, laboratory, and research professionals.
Duties
- Perform ECG on inpatient and outpatients
- Perform venipuncture on inpatients and outpatients
- Manipulate and process specimens as per laboratory protocols
- Operate laboratory equipment
- Organize and arrange transport of specimens
- Practice and provide patient centered care
- Use hospital information systems to access and document procedures
- Participates in training of staff
- Maintain safe working environment and comply with IPAC
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12, or recognized equivalent
