We are currently recruiting for a Research Technologist II, responsible for providing general support particularly coordinating pre-clinical in vivo studies in pediatric brain tumours and general lab maintenance to a highly active and growing research group. Our work focuses on pediatric brain tumour preclinical therapeutics and disease modeling where we apply cutting edge tools and techniques to identify and validate novel new treatments for high risk pediatric brain tumours.

This job requires a highly organized individual with outstanding time management, good record keeping, good communication skills who pays close attention to detail and is able to anticipate others needs and act accordingly.

As a Research Technologist II, you are responsible for performing a variety of technical assignments under general supervision, particularly mouse husbandry. Independence, good time management and accountability is a necessary succeed in this role. This individual will be responsible for the organization and support of the general lab reagents, ordering and restocking supplies, expanding and maintaining cell lines as well as training other researchers and providing a continued source of information for general lab protocols.

• Organization of the laboratory, ordering supplies, budgeting, developing new techniques or methods.
• Organization of animal husbandry, tumour implantation and small animal radiation.
• Ensure lab personnel are equally sharing the responsibilities of maintaining the cleanliness and safety in the lab and regularly contributing to lab duties.
• Maintaining and preparing lab stock including reagents.
• Maintaining databases of antibodies, plasmids and chemicals.
• Maintenance and biobanking of cells.
• Responsible for preparation and update of regulatory protocols Bio Risk permits
• Point-of-contact for shipment and delivery of reagents, cells, plasmids.
• Ensuring SOPs are up to date and followed. May be asked to prepare and/contribute to the creation of new SOPs.
• Onboarding all new HQPs

• Minimum 3 years of experience and/or masters level education, working hands‑on with technologies especially mouse husbandry
• Prior experience with cell culture (excellent aseptic techniques), animal handling and molecular biology skills is required.
• Excellent attention to detail and record keeping required.
• Must be able to accommodate and anticipate others needs and requests and prioritize as required
• Must have excellent time‑management skills.
• Must have self‑motivated, well‑organized, highly independent, accountable but also personable as this job requires working with a team and interdisciplinary collaborators.
