Empower children and youth with autism as a full-time Respite Worker at SAAAC Autism Centre. Provide essential respite support for families while experiencing personal and professional growth.
The SAAAC Autism Centre in Toronto is seeking a dedicated Respite Worker for an 18-month contract role. Your tasks will include offering 1:1 supervision, designing respite plans, and maintaining confidential client files. Strong crisis intervention skills and understanding of autism are crucial, as you will work closely with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct 1:1 supervision to clients
• Maintain confidential client files and progress notes
• Engage in crisis intervention and preventative measures
• Collaboratively design tailored respite plans
• Uphold safety and health protocols at all times
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in relevant fields
• 1 year of experience in similar roles
• Valid First Aid, Criminal Record, and Vulnerable Sector Checks
• Crisis Intervention training required
• Knowledge of autism and behavior management needed
