Job DescriptionAs the Ambassador of our hotel, you are often the first and last impression our guests experience. Your mission is to consistently deliver exceptional guest service upon arrival, during their stay, and are a confident, welcoming presence who thrives in the spotlight and understands the impact of hospitality excellence.
- Report for duty on time with a professional appearance, wearing a clean uniform and PPE, and equipped with all necessary tools to start your shift.
- Greet all guests with a smile and a warm hospitality greeting – “Welcome to the Fairmont Royal York.”
- Remain at your assigned post at all times.
- Welcome guests arriving by vehicle or foot and clearly direct them to registration.
- Promote Valet parking to arriving guests and ensure all vehicle keys are properly tagged and securely stored.
- Adhere strictly to Fairmont and LQA Service Standards.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of and compliance with Accor’s ALLSAFE program.
- Acknowledge and recognize Accor Live Limitless (ALL) members.
- Keep driveways and entrances clear for smooth vehicle arrivals and departures.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before parking at the East Door, noting any damage in the O-Valet system.
- Be visibly stationed at entrances to assist with luggage during arrivals and departures, ensuring it is delivered as requested.
- Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, dining, local attractions, and transportation when asked or anticipated. Refer to the appropriate resource if unsure.
- Direct guests to the Bell Desk for luggage storage.
- Assist during fire alarms as per the Hotel Fire Response Manual.
- Report any suspicious or unusual behavior to AGSM/GSM or Hotel Security.
- Identify and take action on any deficiencies, malfunctions, or untidiness encountered during your shift.
- Available to work weekends, evenings, and shift work.
- Ability to work outside in all seasons – hot summers and cold winters.
- Excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills.
- Loves dealing with the public.
- Previous guest services experience.
- Thrives under pressure.
- Team oriented.
- Customer‑service focused.
- Professional manner and warm, outgoing personality.
- Good command of the English language.
- Valid driver’s license with no infractions.
- Previous experience with Valet Operating System an asset.
- Able to drive manual and standard vehicles.
- Possesses the ability to anticipate guests’ needs, offering assistance before they approach you.
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
