Payroll Specialist Hybrid
The Opportunity
As the Payroll Specialist, you will process the bi‑weekly payroll for executive, salaried and hourly employees, while ensuring the consistent application of payroll and benefit legislation within company procedures.
LocationYou will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in‑office collaboration with remote flexibility.
Reporting RelationshipYou will report to the Senior Manager, Payroll & HR Services.

Salary RangeThe expected base salary range for this role is $56,800 – $79,520. Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
What You’ll Do- Process full cycle bi‑weekly payroll.
- Support post‑payroll processes including GL, finance reports, tax remittances, benefit and pension administration.
- Be a subject matter expert for payroll, benefit, time tracking and absence modules in Workday.
- Provide payroll expertise and guidance to all stakeholders in complex and sensitive matters and policy interpretation related to payroll and benefits.
- Support year‑end processing and reporting for T4, T4A, W2, RL1, T2200, EHT, Work Safe BC, CNESST reconciliation, returns and other jurisdictional forms.
- University degree in a related field.
- PCP certification – Payroll Compliance Practitioner.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitution.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing.
- ROE web, payroll compliance, year‑end payroll processing (processing T4, RL1, Workers Comp, etc.).
- Some GL and finance knowledge.
- Payroll & absence reporting (employees/management/finance).
- Knowledge of payroll and HRIS Workday systems.
- Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset.
