The Senior Recruiter will support client hiring managers with filling their vacancies to target start dates, ensuring all quality thresholds and SLA/KPIs are met. They will deliver excellent recruitment services to the client in line with agreed service levels, acting as the custodian of candidate quality and the hiring manager experience, working in conjunction with colleagues in teams such as Sourcing and Administration.
Senior Recruiters will be aligned to high-touch client business units or stakeholder groups that require additional attention. This may involve more rounds of interviews, more data/insight-led consultation, more complex offer negotiation, intricate reward structures, or interfacing with more senior hiring managers. They will follow a high-touch workflow, investing more time at each stage of the recruitment process than a Recruiter.
This is a hybrid contract position based in either Toronto or Waterloo, with an expectation to work from the office one day per week. The contract is expected to be for an initial period of 3-6 months.
Salary range (CAD): $80,000 - $95,000 per year.
Key AccountabilitiesKey Responsibilities and Activities
Act as a Trusted Adviser
Build strong partnerships with Recruiters and Hiring Managers to deliver an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience. Lead recruiting discussions and be recognised as a thought leader in sourcing strategy.
Partner with sourcing and talent intelligence experts to develop effective strategies, using market insights to influence hiring outcomes from the start of the process.
Deliver high-quality candidate shortlists with accurate, complete information and clear recommendations to support informed hiring decisions.
Share candidate feedback, challenges, and successes with Recruiters and Hiring Managers, recommending adjustments to recruitment strategies (e.g., alternative locations, talent pools, job description updates).
Demonstrate innovative thinking and ongoing professional development to help clients hire top talent, including passive candidates.
Create and post compelling, accurate job adverts that strengthen the client brand and attract strong applicants.
Develop sourcing strategies using appropriate channels (e.g., Linked In, social media), adopting a proactive search approach for niche and specialist roles.
Use data to measure sourcing effectiveness, continuously refine strategies, and share successes and insights.
Engage candidates professionally across multiple channels (email, Linked In, phone), regularly headhunting specialist talent.
Gain insight into candidate skills, motivations, and career aspirations to inform selection decisions.
Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process and build long-term talent pools.
Present candidates accurately and compellingly to clients, advocating for diverse and bias-free selection processes.
Track progress, performance, and data in relevant systems.

Skills & RequirementsThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
- Proven recruitment experience within the financial services sector , with a strong understanding of specialized talent markets, industry-specific roles, and the unique hiring challenges within the industry, including experience recruiting across all levels from entry-level and early careers through senior and director-level positions, as well as hard-to-fill roles.
