What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology team, the Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis will provide advice and consultation for business application developments to ensure growth. The role offers technical leadership, interprets complex information, participates in client business review sessions to influence decisions regarding the use of technology, and develops, recommends, and facilitates activities for the application of new technologies to support existing processes and client needs.

The role provides expertise to project managers, coordinators and directors on technology functionality and utilization, leveraging a solid understanding of business dynamics. It independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

How You’ll Succeed

Understanding and documenting requirements – Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Primarily working with the Rates desk but also exploring opportunities across other asset classes.

Solution design – Build client‑focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.

Leading and mentoring – Support end‑to‑end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.

Who You Are

5–6 years of experience as a BSA/BSC leading projects and designing solutions. Ability to elicit requirements and produce strong documentation. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are mandatory. Proficiency in Excel pivot tables, Visio, and other Microsoft Office applications. At least 5 years of SQL and Jira/Confluence experience. Strong problem‑solving, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.

Experience with Power

BI, Databricks, C# or Python is an asset.
