With over 10+ years of experience running application operations groups and accountable for overseeing the gating, validation, acceptance, and operational management of all applications entering production within Enterprise Operations, including Application Support, Incident Management, SRE and Dev Sec Ops  functions. Responsibilities encompass leading incident response, acting as a point of escalation for production issues, optimizing automated deployments, monitoring system health, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

Strong technical background includes a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, pipeline-integrated security scanning, and compliance tools, as well as AIOps principles for enhancing observability, anomaly detection, and incident resolution through automation and machine learning. Have proven expertise in automating deployments, incident response workflows, and operational tasks using scripting and orchestration, supporting a range of deployment models including cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.

Skills extend to monitoring and log management solutions like Kibana, Dynatrace, Splunk, MS App Insights, and Grafana, the role ensures production support readiness, maintains deployment pipelines, and implements automation to reduce manual effort, while fostering effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Leadership responsibilities include building team capabilities, managing performance, ensuring compliance with CIBC policies and standards, and hiring to align resources with business objectives.

The incumbent collaborates cross-functionally with technology, business, and vendor teams, holds authority to recommend process improvements and manage team operations, and oversees a team of 10–30 staff with an operating budget of $1–2MM. Advanced expertise in application operations, automation, security, CI/CD, monitoring, and leadership is essential. The role operates within a standard office environment and requires 24/7 on-call availability for critical escalations.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field—or equivalent practical experience.
