Systems Analyst

The Systems Analyst will provide senior-level technical expertise in the design, analysis, implementation, and transition of telephony technology replacement initiatives, primarily supporting public safety and emergency communication environments. The role involves assessing current-state telephony systems, defining remediation plans, supporting implementation, and ensuring operational readiness across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior technical expertise for telephony technology replacement and modernization initiatives
- Assess and document current-state telephony infrastructure and prepare remediation plans
- Design and support implementation of telephony solutions across emergency dispatch environments
- Configure, integrate, and support Avaya-based telephony platforms and related infrastructure
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex telephony and platform issues
- Lead issues management including identification, mitigation, escalation, and resolution
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, vendors, and development teams on solution design and integration
- Support unit testing, end-to-end testing, and system validation activities
- Develop and maintain technical, operational, and test documentation
- Lead design and implementation of monitoring solutions for telephony platforms
- Coordinate telephony readiness with network and infrastructure projects
- Provide onsite operational support during transition phases, including coordination across multiple facilities
Telephony & Infrastructure Expertise
- Strong experience implementing and supporting enterprise telephony systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- Avaya Aura (R10), Communication Manager, Session Manager
- Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS) failover configurations
- Softphone solutions and contact center technologies
- PBX, analog trunking, and legacy telephony systems
- VOIP, SIP, Session Border Controllers (SBC)
- Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)
- Experience integrating telephony with:
- Voice recording solutions
- Dispatch systems
- Third-party vendor platforms
- Knowledge of public safety / emergency communications environments is a strong asset
- Familiarity with:
- Linux and Windows Server (2016/2019)
- Virtual Machines, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI)
- Active Directory (AD)
- Networking concepts: subnets, VLANs, DNS, IP, VPN
- Security protocols: TLS, SRTP
- PSTN, PBX, NTP, remote desktop
- Basic familiarity with SQL is required
- Experience gathering and documenting technical and operational requirements
- Ability to support detailed project schedules and integrated plans
- Experience working with multiple vendors and cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while managing competing priorities
- Experience supporting large-scale, multi-vendor technology initiatives
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience presenting technical updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage expectations and navigate complex stakeholder environments
- Comfortable working in matrix organizations and leading technical discussions
