Overview

About Maple. Founded in 2015, Maple is a fast-growing health tech company with a vision to power the future of healthcare by building a connected and superior experience for patients, doctors, nurse practitioners and other types of health providers. Maple offers virtual care services across multiple distribution channels, including Direct-to-Consumer (B2C), Employers and Private Insurers (B2B) and Public Sector Institutions (B2I).

Maple has a growing network of 2,000+ healthcare providers and nearly 7 million Canadians with access to our services.

We have established an entrepreneurial culture centered around our purpose to support people’s health and well-being and to strengthen the healthcare system. The company has earned various awards and recognitions.

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to lead design across Maple’s patient experience, shaping how millions of Canadians access and experience care on Maple. You’ll join a small, highly collaborative design team where craft, impact, and autonomy matter. You’ll take ownership of complex, high-value patient-facing workflows, partner with Product and Engineering, and raise the bar for design quality across the organization.

This role offers ownership and scope to influence both current experience and future vision in a company where design quality directly shapes patient outcomes.

If you thrive on solving complex problems, shaping product direction, and executing with exceptional craft, this role provides meaningful impact.

Your Impact
  • Play a central role in shaping a best-in-class care delivery experience, helping millions of Canadians navigate consultations and receive care with confidence and ease
  • Lead complex, high-impact patient-facing end-to-end experiences with autonomy from discovery through delivery and iteration
  • Shape product direction alongside Product and Engineering, influencing prioritization, framing opportunities, and guiding the long-term strategy for Maple’s care delivery platform
  • Raise the bar for craft, usability, accessibility, and systems thinking, contribute to our design system, and ensure consistency across multiple surfaces and workflows
  • Drive clarity and alignment across teams, using strong communication, documentation, and facilitation to help cross-functional partners make informed decisions
  • Strengthen design operations and team effectiveness, improve processes, champion best practices, and support a healthy, collaborative product culture
What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, you’ll build relationships with cross-functional partners, understand Maple’s patient experience, and lead key design initiatives. You’ll identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and elevate usability across the product. Over the next 12 months, you’ll shape Maple’s next-generation patient experience — integrating AI into core flows, evolving our design system, and raising craft and quality across patient-facing surfaces.

You’ll deliver measurable improvements to engagement, satisfaction, and product clarity while helping define what best-in-class looks like in virtual care.

Candidate Profile
  • Have 6+ years of experience designing end-to-end product experiences in consumer-facing SaaS, with a portfolio demonstrating complex, multi-surface problem-solving
  • Strong interaction design craft and systems thinking, with a proven ability to design accessible, inclusive, and scalable user experiences
  • Operates with high autonomy, leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and making sound decisions with minimal oversight
  • Comfortable shaping clarity in ambiguous spaces, identifying patterns, defining experience principles, and framing opportunities that guide product direction
  • A strong communicator and facilitator, able to align Product, Engineering, and stakeholders around complex ideas and trade-offs
  • Collaborative, low ego, and relationship-driven, contributing to a healthy, open, and supportive team environment
  • Delivers polished, high-quality work at speed, balancing detail with pragmatic execution across mobile and web
  • Uses prototyping, data, and user insights to validate ideas and influence both product strategy…
