Business System Analyst – Capital Markets (Drivatives Trading)

Location:

Toronto

• 6–8 years overall experience

• 7+ years as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets

• Senior Business Analyst role focused on FX and derivatives trading

• Lead complex initiatives across Order–Trade Life Cycle systems

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams

• Ensure data integration, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency

• FX and derivatives trading workflows

• Order–Trade Life Cycle (OTLC)

• Data integration and data mapping

• Elastic Search (ES)

• Python and Elastic Search (Python, ES)

• Impact analysis and traceability

• Lead requirements gathering and solution design for FX and derivatives trading workflows

• Define and document:

  • Functional specifications

  • Data mappings

  • Integration requirements across trading and downstream systems

• Work closely with development teams to:

  • Implement automation

  • Perform data validation using Python

• Utilize Elastic Search (ES) for:

  • Trade data indexing

  • Data retrieval

  • Compliance and regulatory reporting

• Drive end-to-end project delivery including:

  • Impact analysis

  • Traceability

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Collaborate with:

  • Trading

  • Risk

  • Compliance

  • Technology teams

• Ensure alignment with regulatory and operational standards

• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to:

  • Best practices

  • Documentation standards

  • Governance

  • Agile delivery processes

• 7+ years as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets

• Strong expertise in:

  • FX and derivatives trading

  • Order–Trade Life Cycle (trade capture, confirmation, settlement, risk)

• Proven experience in:

  • Data integration

  • Data mapping

  • Complex, multi-system data flows

• Proficiency in Python for:

  • Automation

  • Data validation

  • Reporting

• Hands-on experience with Elastic Search (ES)

• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks:

  • MiFID II

  • Dodd-Frank

  • EMIR

• Experience with trading platforms:

  • Murex

  • Calypso

  • or similar systems

• Knowledge of:

  • Data governance

  • Risk management

  • Compliance controls

• Exposure to:

  • Cloud-based architectures

  • API-driven integrations

• Certifications (nice to have):

  • CBAP

  • CFA

  • FRM
