The opportunity

This role is focused on leading and scaling eDiscovery managed services and complex discovery engagements. The eDiscovery Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end operational delivery of eDiscovery services, providing consistent oversight across multiple matters, and ensuring high‑quality, defensible outcomes. The role is designed to bring sustained management attention to eDiscovery operations, enabling the practice to manage risk, support growth, and deliver a standardized, repeatable managed services model aligned with global strategy.

The eDiscovery Manager will report directly to a Senior Manager and work closely with the Partner responsible for the eDiscovery and Digital Forensics practice. The role requires regular interaction with senior leadership to provide visibility into delivery performance, risks, capacity, and strategic priorities across the eDiscovery portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the day‑to‑day delivery of eDiscovery engagements and managed services, from intake through production.
  • Provide operational leadership across multiple concurrent matters, ensuring consistency, defensibility, and adherence to defined eDiscovery workflows and standards.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor eDiscovery project managers, analysts, managed review teams, and global delivery resources.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues, capacity constraints, quality concerns, and client‑facing risks.
  • Oversee matter intake, resourcing, prioritization, and workload balancing across the eDiscovery portfolio.
  • Maintain accountability for service quality, timelines, and cost management across managed services and project‑based engagements.
  • Partner with engagement leaders, clients, and legal counsel to provide status reporting, strategic guidance, and operational recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of eDiscovery processes, technology utilization, and delivery models to support scale and efficiency.
  • Support the ongoing development and maturity of the eDiscovery managed services offering, including alignment with global eDiscovery strategy.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, training, and development of eDiscovery resources to build long‑term operational capability.
Qualifications
  • Strong operational leadership mindset with the ability to manage complex, high‑volume eDiscovery workloads.
  • Comfort operating within a defined reporting structure and collaborating closely with Senior Managers and Partners.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate geographically distributed teams in a managed services environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging directly with clients and legal teams.
  • Strong judgment and risk awareness in managing defensibility, compliance, and service delivery obligations.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments with competing priorities.
  • Continuous improvement orientation with a focus on standardization, efficiency, and scalable delivery models.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in eDiscovery, including 2+ years management of complex or large‑scale matters.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering eDiscovery services in a managed services or operational leadership context.
  • Hands‑on experience with leading eDiscovery platforms and related tools (e.g., Relativity, Nuix, eCapture, EnCase or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of eDiscovery lifecycle, defensibility requirements, data privacy, and information governance considerations.
  • Effective written and oral communication to articulate complex issues in easy terms for various non technical stake holders.
  • Proven project and operational management skills, including scope, cost, timeline, and quality control.
  • Experience managing client‑facing delivery and supporting senior engagement leaders.
  • Relevant eDiscovery certifications or advanced education…
