Business Systems Analyst – Capital Markets (Structured Notes / MLGIC Migration)
Location: Hybrid (1/2 days week)
Contract: 12‑month contract (high probability of extension)

OverviewOur client, a leading Canadian bank, is undertaking a major multi‑year migration of its Market Linked GIC (MLGIC) product from a CGI‑supported system into a new Broadridge environment. This is a highly technical, fast‑moving and business‑critical structured products initiative.
They are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Capital Markets, SQL and Derivatives knowledge to join the team. You will work directly with senior stakeholders across structured notes, front office, back office and technology.
This role requires someone who is hands‑on, technically confident with data, and comfortable working in a capital markets environment.
Key Responsibilities-Business Analysis & Documentation -
- Lead requirements gathering across business & technology teams
- Produce SRDs, BRDs, confluence documentation and solution requirements
- Analyse structured product features (MLGICs, bonds, options, derivatives)
- Support testing activities and validate outcomes
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements
- Work extensively with SQL to validate data, support testing and track change impacts
- Analyse large datasets, schema structures and perform data mapping
- Interpret XML and JSON payloads
- Collaborate with developers and technical teams, reviewing code snippets (where relevant)
- Work with structured notes product teams
- Liaise with front office (occasional interactions with traders)
- Work with back office and operations
- Coordinate with cross-functional groups to ensure smooth migration progress
- Contribute to a multi-year capital markets migration running until 2027
- Understand the CGI → Broadridge system transition
- Support ongoing project phases as scope evolves
-Capital Markets Experience
- 5–10 years direct capital markets experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Fixed income
- Bonds
- Options
- Equity derivatives or interest rate derivatives (ideally both)
- Comfortable working in environments that liaise directly with traders / front office
- SQL – mandatory
- XML – mandatory
- JSON – mandatory
- Excel – mandatory
- Strong experience with data mapping, schemas and large datasets
- Ability to read basic code snippets (Python or C#) is an asset
- Strong experience writing:
- SRDs
- BRDs
- Requirements and testing artefacts
- CFA an asset, but not required
- FRM not required
- Structured Notes subject‑matter expertise
- Experience with Broadridge, CGI or similar vendor systems
- Experience with capital markets trading systems (Bloomberg, Murex, etc.)
- AI / automation exposure within financial services teams
