Job Description What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Wealth Management Canada Business Intelligence Team. You will play a key role in modernizing our analytics infrastructure by migrating legacy reporting systems to cloud-based platforms, creating impactful dashboards and reports, and establishing best practices in data governance. This position offers the opportunity to drive strategic transformation while directly supporting business users across investment advisory, branch management, and head office functions.
Whatwill you do?
- System Migration & Modernization:
Lead the migration of reports from legacy SAS systems to Snowflake/Tableau, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal business disruption. - Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
Conduct discovery sessions with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, pain points, and analytics requirements; document and prioritize requirements to inform solution design. - Dashboard & Report Development:
Design and build intuitive dashboards and reports for diverse WMC stakeholders including Investment Advisors, Branch Managers, Regional Managers, and Head Office teams. - Data Ecosystem Expertise:
Develop deep knowledge of our data landscape, identify authoritative data sources, and become a go-to resource for data location and accessibility questions. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, and other departments to ensure project deliverables meet requirements and timelines. - Regulatory Compliance:
Support timely delivery of regulatory reports (e.g., CRM3, CIRO) with 100% accuracy and on-time performance. - Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
Create comprehensive documentation, data dictionaries, and knowledge base articles to support team and stakeholder understanding.
- Support cloud-first migration from SAS/SQL Server to Snowflake for near real-time analytics.
- Support data governance initiatives, including automated validation, data lineage tracking, and metadata management.
- Drive adoption of modernized reporting frameworks and monitor end-user engagement.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and eliminate redundant processes.
- 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting or related field.
- Proficiency with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) and MS Excel.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Experience with Snowflake or cloud data platforms.
- Familiarity with SAS.
- Knowledge of financial services or wealth management industry.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., CRM3, CIRO).
