We are looking for an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join our Authentication Services team to help build the next generation of Authentication Services for the Bank. This is an exciting opportunity to start with us on a challenging journey building a critical new Digital Identity platform for Scotiabank. You will participate in all aspects of the software delivery life cycle of one of the largest, cutting‑edge Digital Identity and Access Management (IAM) services in Canada.

You will be part of a highly skilled professional team, that will deliver high demand services like biometric (fingerprint/face-) authentication, push notifications, password‑less authentication, behaviour authentication … among others. Is

this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  • Support enterprise‑wide services including authentication, provisioning, federation, and directory platforms
  • Lead escalations and incidents, modify established procedures / approaches to suit specific situations including 24 x 7 support and coordination of recovery efforts.
  • Oversee and enhance current Dev Ops processes and practises.
  • Ensure all Scotiabank IT regulatory and compliance procedures are met.
  • Develop operational plans and procedures to improve service delivery time‑to‑market and system stability and reliability.
  • Measure and optimize system performance to push our capabilities forward.
  • Participate in defining SLIs, SLOs and SLAs for Enterprise Systems.
  • Partner with development teams to address outstanding production issues and rollout fixes.
  • Work with Scotiabank infrastructure teams and our partners, to maintain and support infrastructure and services upgrades and software currency initiatives.
  • Work collectively within a dynamic team to actively participate and lead configurations and support of IAM solution deployment in accordance with designs
  • Work in production support and handle escalations during the day as well as off‑hours (if need be).
  • Lead root cause analysis to in‑scope systems, identify improvements, and drive to implementation
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 5+ years of experience in application configuration & deployments, supporting large, complex, highly available enterprise systems.
  • Experience with cloud and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, PCF etc.) as we aim to build self‑serve products on a cloud platform
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in creating Dev Ops pipeline to build, scan, test and deploy code to various production and pre‑production environments.
  • 3+ years of experience working with any Configuration tool such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
  • Extensive experience working with scripting languages such as python, bash, Java etc.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with customer facing applications deployed as containers on public clouds such as Microsoft Azure
  • Proficiency with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jira, Jenkins, Gradle, Bitbucket, Artifactory etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem‑solving skills coupled with the ability to collaborate with and lead teams toward to resolution.
  • Strong working experience with incident management and setting up monitoring alerts.
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks. Be self‑motivated, autonomous and a team player in a fast‑paced environment.
