Position: Security Manager to lead team supporting large cybersecurity initiative with client in the public sector

Location:
Hamilton, ON

Work Model: HYBRID - Two days onsite (Tuesday and Wednesday). Starting in the new year, the schedule will alternate between two days onsite, then three days, and back to two days, and so on.

Hours: 35/Week

Contract: 3 months + extension

We are looking for a hands-on Security Manager on a temporary basis to lead our security team and oversee day-to-day security operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to run a SOC, and proven people leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the security team

Oversee SOC operations and incident response

Troubleshoot and support security tools and systems

Provide coverage across all security domains

Support GRC initiatives and security architecture efforts

Develop and manage security priorities and roadmaps

Communicate clearly with technical teams and leadership

Requirements:

Experience leading a security team

Strong technical security background

Hands-on SOC and incident respons
e experience

Experience with GRC and security architecture

Strong prioritization and planning skills

Excellent communication skills

Nice to have

Ability to investigate forensic cases (nice to have)
