Position Overview
Autodesk is accelerating its AI/ML strategy across the company. To support this, we are seeking a Principal Program Manager who will support the operational rhythm, structure, and execution of our AI Executive Leadership Team and drive its associated sub-forums.
In this role, you will be the connective tissue across teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and forward progress on Autodesk’s most important AI/ML initiatives. You will partner closely with leaders across Product, Platform, Engineering, Go-to-market, Marketing, Legal, and Business Strategy to drive coherent decision-making and connect disparate workstreams into a unified, company-wide AI narrative.
This is a high-visibility, highly cross-functional role requiring exceptional program management, facilitation, communication, and synthesis skills—with a strong conceptual understanding of AI/ML and how it shows up across a complex product portfolio.
Responsibilities
Operate and orchestrate the AI Executive Leadership Team (AI-ELT), including agendas, materials, decision framing, documentation, and follow-through
Connect discussions, decisions, and dependencies across AI-ELT functional areas to ensure coherence and alignment
Lead planning and execution for cross-organizational AI/ML initiatives, defining structures, milestones, risks, and clear progress tracking
Facilitate complex conversations, synthesize diverse inputs, and drive crisp, well-informed decisions across product, platform, research, industry, and business teams
Create executive-ready materials, summaries, and narratives that simplify complex AI topics and keep stakeholders informed and aligned
Identify risks and blockers early, drive mitigation plans, and ensure timely escalation when needed
Maintain predictable program rhythms, continuously refine workflows, and introduce operating practices that improve transparency, speed, and cross-functional coordination
Minimum Qualifications
8-10 years of experience in program management, portfolio operations, or strategic program delivery
Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs with executive visibility
Good familiarity with AI/ML concepts—able to understand and synthesize discussions in collaboration with technical leaders (no hands-on technical expertise required)
Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
Exceptional communication, analytics, synthesis, and facilitation skills
Experience building decision frameworks, program rhythms, and program governance structures
High degree of comfort operating in ambiguity and creating clarity
Experience with program tools (Airtable, Asana, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent) and AI tools (ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, etc)
Passion for innovation, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting or operating executive-level forums, steering committees, or strategic councils
Background working in AI/ML-driven product environments or adjacent fields (e.g., data science, applied research)
