Autodesk is investing in generative AI to transform how our customers work across industries. We are building AI-powered platforms and services that enable new workflows, accelerate innovation, and support both internal product teams and external developers. This role focuses on developer enablement and forward deployed engineering efforts that help translate advanced AI research into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will work at the intersection of research, engineering and applied AI, shaping tools and APIs that make generative AI accessible, reliable, and impactful.

The position sits in Autodesk Research and partners closely with product, platform, and infrastructure teams across the company. This is a hybrid or remote role, with preference for candidates in the Americas or Europe to support collaboration across global teams. Occasional international travel is required.

In this role, you will be responsible for the product management of developer-facing and forward deployed engineering initiatives, including:

• Owning internal developer enablement tools, including defining product vision, maintaining roadmaps, and driving adoption across product teams in multiple divisions
• Delivering external developer tools and APIs, including requirements definition, roadmap ownership, and adoption support for third‑party developers
• Identifying new opportunities enabled by emerging AI capabilities and working with engineering and research partners to scope, prototype, and validate potential applications
• Overseeing proof‑of‑concept efforts and guiding successful transitions from experimentation to production deployment
• Ensuring products align with internal governance and responsible AI principles, including appropriate use of data and models
• Analyzing product performance and usage metrics to inform prioritization and investment decisions
• Serving as a solution and domain expert for internal teams and selected external partners

This role requires strong cross‑functional collaboration and the ability to operate effectively in a large, global organization. You will partner closely with:

• Platform and infrastructure teams responsible for AI services, APIs, and cloud deployment
• Product and engineering teams building AI‑powered features and workflows
• Applied research teams translating new AI techniques into practical capabilities
• Governance and policy teams supporting responsible and compliant AI development

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in product management, technical consulting, forward deployed engineering, or software development
• Experience delivering developer enablement tools, particularly customer‑facing APIs, including requirements definition and roadmap ownership
• Hands‑on experience working with AI or machine learning in a product context
• Proven ability to own and to execute on complex, multi‑stakeholder product initiatives

• Experience with CAD software products and the industries Autodesk products serve
• Familiarity with AI systems and models that leverage large‑scale data
• Background in applied research or research‑to‑product transitions
• Experience with governance, compliance, or risk management related to data or machine learning
• Prior experience working with large platform or developer ecosystem teams

You are comfortable working independently, influencing across organizational boundaries, and collaborating with senior technical and business stakeholders. You enjoy translating advanced technology into practical, scalable solutions and are motivated by building tools that enable others to succeed.
