We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Lab Administrator to support hardware setup, server provisioning, networking deployment, and client PC testing in a fast-paced lab environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on hardware experience, and the ability to execute structured test plans efficiently.
This is an onsite role requiring evening shift availability.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Hardware Deployment- Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision servers.
- Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment.
- Perform hardware troubleshooting, testing, and quality assurance for server systems.
- Professionally resolve hardware issues through structured trouble-ticket systems.
- Install and configure operating systems including Windows Server, Linux, and Unix
. - Perform BIOS updates, driver installations, and version validation.
- Install and update required software components and system patches.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of cabling concepts beyond basic installation.
- Understand port mapping, cable types, and their functional differences.
- Support structured network deployments and hardware connectivity requirements.
- Perform logical hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Identify and resolve common PC issues such as blue screens, system hangs, and performance issues.
- Work with issue tracking systems to document, search, and apply corrective actions or workarounds.
- Read and interpret test plan definitions and optimize execution efficiency.
- Evaluate and report user‑experience observations such as system responsiveness, fan noise, and thermal performance.
- Optimize execution by managing peripheral configuration changes, software deployment timing, and battery test cycles.
- Basic computer hardware asset knowledge.
- Hardware setup and configuration expertise.
- Ability to connect and configure desktop/laptop peripherals (monitors, keyboard, mouse, Bluetooth headset, docking stations, etc.).
- Understanding of RAID levels (preferred).
- Experience with web server and database installation (preferred).
- Familiarity with Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Clear communication skills, including executive‑level communication when required.
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced lab environment.
- Team‑oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.
- High School Diploma (minimum requirement).
- Electronics‑related education (2-year degree required).
- 3–5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Prior experience with client PC testing, diagnostics, and debugging preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
