RQ10335 - Sr. Specialized IT Consultant
1-year contract (250 business days) - 1 possible extension
ONSITE 5 days a week - Sir William Hearst Ave, Toronto
Security Level: CRJMC
Responsibilities/Assignment Deliverables:
- Collaborate with new vendor solution, project teams, solution architects, ITS, LTC IAST staff and third parties engaged to facilitate agreement on and acceptance of the solution for any technical issues or enhancements.
- Provide technical support coordination for QA and UAT testing, including engagement of existing support teams.
- Provide support for cloud pipeline configuration, management, and deployment support.
- Contribute to the completion of deliverables (such as, solution concept document, infrastructure build, and requirements document) for solution support and Maintenance activities.
- Lead the completion of the desktop package certification and installation.
- Lead the maintenance of environment readiness (HW, Security Patching, SW, NSGs/Network, VPN, VDI access for Vendor and internal teams).
- Completion of all connections to all non-core and/or legacy components identified for the solution Maintenance and Support requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in the release and deployment management, change management, problem and incident management, service level management, environment greening, and service transition from project team to operations team and related processes on-going.
- Provide Technical expertise in the management of changes from agreed scope, schedule or quality for infrastructure, network, and access updates through Change request process – provide technical assistance in the issuance of change requests and management approvals.
- Technical oversight of code/package drops and implementations into QA/UAT/Production Environments
- Provide Technical expertise and necessary activities in the management of the Hardware/Peripherals and Software Inventory to optimize the Azure hosting costs, (such as physical and virtual servers, network assets, software licenses)
- Proactively identify risks related to technical solutions and propose mitigation plans. Provide technical expertise in the follow ups on risk mitigations strategy and issues/ actions execution.
- Provide technical expertise in the completion of client-side elements of the solution, such as desktop package certification and installation and peripherals acquisition and setup.
- Technical Leadership, coordination, and facilitation as required for the Maintenance and Support tasks.
- Works in partnership with clients, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems, work to improve structure and efficiency of an organizations I&IT systems.
- The I&IT Consultant may be used to provide strategic guidance to organizations with regard to Information Management & IT technology, IT infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT.
- Provides subject matter expertise in their field and highly expert technical assistance.
Skill Set:
The candidate must be able to work in a multi-project, multi-disciplinary enterprise environment seeking input and comments from other major initiatives.
- Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of a specific deliverable
- Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding expectations
- Develops processes and procedures for implementing deliverables
- Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, implementation plans, etc.
- Works with clients to define the scope of a project and to determine requirements
- Defines software, hardware and network requirements
- Analyzes I&IT requirements giving independent and objective advice on the use of I&IT
- Designs, tests, installs and monitors new systems and develops solutions and implementation of new systems
- Familiar with change-management principles and methodology
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
- Knowledge of technology developments, trends, and new products to evaluate application for the short and long-term technology requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills, teamwork skills.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life cycle.
- Senior Experience in supporting large applications through LTC/ITS, Oracle, .Net, Java, AKS, Sonar Qube, Dev Ops and Microsoft organization.
- Knowledge of GO-ITS 25 Security Standards and GO-ITS 56 Architecture Standards.
- Knowledge of leading-edge technologies design criteria, security and recovery procedures, preparation of technical specifications for installation, testing and performance of integrated, multi-services systems; assess performance and capacity of existing system making recommendations for improving performance and develop technical documentation.
