Position: Director, Security Platforms, Identity & AI Operations Support (Global Security)

What is the opportunity?

As the Director, Security Platforms, Identity & AI Operations Support, you will be accountable for the end-to-end operational reliability, security posture, and service excellence of RBC’s Security Data Hub and Security Insight, and Identity Data Fabric platforms. This role provides strategic leadership and operational governance over an offshore contract team delivering Level 1 and 2 support, while serving as the Application custodian for critical security, data, and IAM platforms.

The director ensures platforms meet enterprise SLA commitments, regulatory and audit requirements, resilience standards, and evolving security analytics needs while driving operational maturity, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.

The director ensures that all security and identity platforms are reliably available, compliant, and continuously improving. They provide strategic direction, operational governance, and stakeholder management to meet business and regulatory expectations.

What will you do?
  • Provide end‑to‑end leadership and operational governance for the Global Security Data Hub, Security Analytics, and Identity Data Fabric, ensuring high availability, resilience, and compliance with enterprise SLAs and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead and oversee an offshore contractor team delivering Level 1/2 operational support across security data and IAM platforms, including incident management, release coordination, and batch/platform monitoring.
  • Own incident response performance, including MTTR targets, escalation management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
  • Act as Application Custodian for assigned security and IAM platforms, accountable for attestations, risk findings, audit evidence, vulnerability management, and platform currency.
  • Support and evolve Identity Data Fabric capabilities, ensuring reliable ingestion, correlation, and governance of identity, entitlement, and access telemetry across enterprise systems.
  • Lead the implementation and operationalization of AI‑driven IAM use cases, including but not limited to:
    • Identity and access risk analytics
    • Anomalous behavior detection
    • Privileged access insights
    • Automated access governance and certification intelligence
  • Partner with IAM Architecture, security engineering, and data science teams to ensure AI IAM solutions are scalable, secure, explainable, and audit ready.
  • Drive platform stability and performance through proactive monitoring, performance tuning, identity data quality controls, and coordination of OS patching and component upgrades.
  • Govern vendor relationships, financial management, and capacity planning for security data, IAM, and analytics platforms while ensuring service quality, cost efficiency, and regulatory alignment.
What do you need to succeed? Must have:
  • 10+ years of experience in security operations, IAM, data platforms, or analytics support, with significant leadership experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong IAM domain knowledge, including identity lifecycle management, access governance, authentication/authorization concepts, and privileged access controls.
  • Proven experience managing global offshore delivery teams and third‑party vendors under formal SLA and MTTR commitments.
  • Strong understanding of incident, problem, change, and release management within regulated financial or security‑critical environments.
  • Experience serving as an Application Custodian or equivalent role, including audit support, risk management, attestations, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Solid working knowledge of large‑scale data and analytics platforms (e.g., Cloudera, Snowflake, Spark) and cloud environments (AWS).
  • Demonstrated ability to work across security, IAM, data engineering, and AI teams to deliver complex, cross‑domain initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead through incidents, audits, and executive‑level reviews.
