Position Title: Project Manager – Infrastructure

Work Location: Fully remote

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY

The IT Project Manager oversees large‑scale, complex, high‑profile, and potentially higher‑risk IT business projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of PMO frameworks, processes, and procedures, while supporting more junior project managers under the guidance of PMO leadership.

The Project Manager collaborates closely with senior IT management, committees, vendors, consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with budget, timelines, and governance expectations.

KEY

ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Strategy & Planning
  • Create detailed project plans including resourcing, issue identification, resolution processes, communication streams, risk management, and status reporting.
  • Ensure business requirements are clearly defined and complete.
  • Plan all project deliverables including scope, milestones, goals, success criteria, and required changes.
  • Produce comprehensive project artefacts including charter, stakeholder lists, schedules, budgets, risks, mission statements, and resource requirements.
  • Lead complex projects throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Manage change requests, resolve issues/conflicts, and elevate when necessary.
  • Define project success criteria and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Provide advisory support on IT solutions, technical alternatives, and system strategy recommendations when appropriate.
2. Acquisition & Deployment
  • Draft and submit project budget proposals while recommending changes as required.
  • Collaborate with resource managers to guide execution of assigned project tasks.
  • Ensure all operational support requirements are identified and delivered.
  • Lead vendor discussions and negotiations for high‑profile initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  • Prepare project closure documentation and conduct project closure meetings.
3. Operational Management
  • Partner with analysts, consultants, and subject‑matter experts to manage project tasks.
  • Obtain written approvals for all deliverables in accordance with project plans.
  • Maintain a complete project documentation library.
  • Report project status regularly to PMO, steering committees, executives, and sponsors.
  • Proactively manage scope changes, risks, crisis scenarios, and contingency plans.
  • Coach and support project team members and contractors while promoting accountability.
  • Escalate risks or issues promptly to protect milestones and timelines.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with team members, managers, sponsors, and executives.
  • Conduct post‑project evaluations and produce recommendation reports to highlight successes and improvement opportunities.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Must‑Haves
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience managing infrastructure projects
  • Strong ability to manage full‑lifecycle project delivery
  • PMP certification
  • Experience with in non‑profit environments (preferred)
