Senior Platform Engineer

Overview

Saatchi Canada is currently opening a new Senior Platform Engineer position to support an innovative AI initiative. This role is part of a growing team with an immediate start date. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and Dev Ops practices, who is passionate about automation, reliability, and enabling development teams to deliver value efficiently.

A strong understanding of security, scalability, and operational excellence is essential.

• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure with multi‑cloud extensibility in mind.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Java backend and React frontend applications.
• Implement infrastructure as code for consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Manage containerized workloads and orchestration platforms.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies using cloud‑native and third‑party tools.
• Implement security best practices including secrets management, IAM policies, and network security.
• Support development teams with environment provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce toil and improve operational efficiency.

• 6+ years of professional experience in Dev Ops or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Solid proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration concepts.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or cloud‑native equivalents).
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices (Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Cloud Build, or similar).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation.
• Understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, load balancing, DNS, firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, cloud‑native monitoring, or similar).
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Git Ops workflows and version‑controlled infrastructure.

Candidates must be based in the Greater Toronto Area with valid Canadian work authorization of at least 12 months. The role is mostly remote, with an on‑site presence once a month at our Toronto office and once a month at our client’s office in the GTA.

The salary range for this position is $90,000–$120,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and relevant certifications.
