Job Description

We are seeking a Distinguished Technologist, Pre Sales Engineer for the global networking sales organization. You will help build the future by redefining what’s next and combining our legacy of innovation with a bold new goal to accelerate everything we do. The sales organization has 10,000+ professionals in presales, service, and support functions who serve commercial, public sector, service provider, hyperscale, and enterprise customers in 11 geographies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end architecture and technical strategy for complex, high‑value networking deals, ensuring solutions meet customer business outcomes.
  • Translate customer business requirements into scalable network designs (datacenter, WAN, hyperscale) and validate hardware/software configurations.
  • Present technical value to technical and executive stakeholders via demos, PoCs, and executive briefings.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams (sales engineers, specialists, product, delivery) to produce customer‑ready solutions, BOMs, and implementation guidance.
  • Drive presales decisioning on tradeoffs, competitive differentiation, and deployment risk mitigation.
  • Hand over validated designs and documentation to delivery teams and ensure successful knowledge transfer.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with partners, integrators, and customer technical leaders.
  • Contribute to reusable playbooks, sizing guides, and presales best practices.
Essential Qualifications (prioritized)
  • 15+ years in network infrastructure architecture, presales, or technical consulting with proven success on large‑scale datacenter, WAN, or hyperscale projects.
  • Deep technical expertise in routing/switching and overlay/underlay technologies (EVPN/VXLAN, IP/MPLS, SR/SRv6).
  • Hands‑on experience with automation and monitoring tooling and APIs (Netconf/REST/YANG, scripting/automation tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional technical teams and mentor presales engineers.
  • Strong executive‑level communication and presentation skills; able to align technical solutions to business outcomes.
  • Experience producing BOMs, RFP responses, and deployment‑ready designs.
  • Familiarity with merchant silicon, whitebox/open networking, and virtualization/performance technologies (Smart

    NICs, DPDK).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Optional/Preferred
  • Advanced technical degree or vendor expert‑level certifications.
  • Experience with production provisioning/automation platforms (Apstra, Paragon or equivalent).
