Reporting to the Senior Director, Cloud Operations and Security, the Dev Ops Engineer will design, build, and operate scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS. The role focuses on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and ensuring security and compliance best practices are embedded throughout.
Responsibilities- Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Build, maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Git Hub Actions.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for observability.
- Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability and performance.
- Deploy containers with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Ensure security and compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other regulated environments.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and support day‑to‑day operations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows.
- Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and harden infrastructure.
- Participate in a rotating 24/7 on‑call schedule.
- Extensive experience in Dev Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering within SaaS, high‑availability environments.
- Proficient with AWS services (compute, networking, storage) and IaC (terraform preferred).
- Strong background designing CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or Git Hub Actions.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus or Cloud Watch.
- Knowledge of containerization with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, CSPM, DSPM, ASPM) and IaC security scanners.
- Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001 or similar compliance frameworks is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor teammates.
- Availability for rotating 24/7 on‑call duties.
Full‑time hybrid role with options to work in Toronto, Vancouver or Victoria. Competitive compensation ranging from $110,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience, plus flexible hours, work‑life balance initiatives and support for professional development and certifications.
