Job DescriptionThe Data Designer-II (aka Sr. BSA) is a pivotal role that combines extensive data design expertise with business analysis skills. This role focuses on translating business needs into technical data solutions, ensuring data quality, and facilitating data‑driven decision‑making. The incumbent will leverage experience in data warehousing within the Microsoft Azure stack to drive data analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize extensive data design expertise to analyze and interpret complex data sets, ensuring data quality and integrity. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and data dictionaries to support business requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical data solutions, leveraging the Microsoft Azure stack. Design and implement data warehousing solutions, ETL processes, and data pipelines to support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Work closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Team Leads in an Agile methodology. Facilitate communication between technical and non‑technical stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and deliverables.
- Maintain necessary artifacts, including requirements documentation, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications. Ensure all documentation is up‑to‑date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and project outcomes.
- Proficient in data warehousing concepts and technologies within the Microsoft Azure stack, including Azure SQL Data Warehouse and Azure Data Factory.
- Expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes with tools such as SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
- Familiarity with snowflake and star schema data‑warehouse models, relational and dimensional data modeling techniques.
- Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting SQL‑related issues.
- Strong business analysis skills, including gathering and documenting requirements, conducting gap analysis, and developing functional specifications. Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and related tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment, focused on achieving project goals and delivering high‑quality results.
- Adaptable to changing project requirements and priorities, maintaining flexibility and initiative.
