RBC's Global Payments Platform and Dev Ops Team is responsible for improving the efficiency and reliability of our existing CI/CD pipelines and integrating new tools or optimizing existing workflows. Will You Do?
- Lead and collaborate with peers to develop code in line with strategic initiatives, as well as architect, develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document components, as per the requirements and detailed design
- Lead the deployment and scaling of microservices in distributed systems environments, ensuring that they are robust and can handle production load
- Create and review technical design documents, understand how the design will be used in the code development process, and facilitate meetings to design, troubleshoot, and execute projects
- Lead walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, code, and unit test plans
- Conduct thorough unit testing, often developing and leveraging automated unit testing frameworks, and improve performance of single functions through performance tuning
- Lead the development and maintenance of infrastructure as code (IaC) for provisioning and managing cloud resources across multiple environments
- Implement security best practices within our pipelines and infrastructure to ensure that our systems are protected against potential threats
- Architect and manage distributed workflow orchestration systems and ensure high availability across multiple datacenters
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to team members on Dev Ops best practices and emerging technologies
- 5-7 years of proven expertise in Dev Ops, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles with progressive responsibility
- Expert‑level proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, as well as advanced Bash scripting
- Extensive hands‑on experience in a variety of SRE languages and tools (Terraform, Ansible, Dynatrace, Service Now, Git Hub, Slack, Elastic, Kibana)
- Advanced knowledge of industry practices, with a strong focus on Dev Ops and SRE principles
- Extensive experience in a variety of environments (Cloud, Linux/Unix/Windows and services/APIs, databases)
- Proven experience with distributed systems architecture and deployment, including workflow orchestration platforms such as Camunda or similar enterprise workflow engines
- Experience managing and deploying multi‑datacenter, highly available distributed systems with focus on reliability and performance
- Strong experience with AI integration in workflows and development processes, including context engineering and AI‑driven automation
- Deep expertise with Git Hub Actions and Git Ops methodologies for CI/CD pipeline development and automation
- Advanced Kubernetes and Open Shift experience with production deployments at enterprise scale
- Experience with progressive delivery techniques including Blue‑Green deployments, canary deployments, and feature flags
- Knowledge of Service Mesh architectures and advanced traffic management patterns
- Experience with custom tooling development for developer productivity and platform automation
- Familiarity with payment systems and financial services technology platforms
- Experience with MLOps practices and machine learning pipeline automation
- Relevant certifications such as CKA/CKAD, Red Hat Open Shift, or cloud platform certifications
