Our client is seeking a hands-on Leader of Deskside Support & Infrastructure Operations to oversee end-user technology support and day-to-day infrastructure operations within a modern Microsoft and cloud-based environment. This role combines hands‑on technical support responsibilities with leadership of deskside support functions, operational processes, and infrastructure service delivery. The successful candidate will act as a technical lead and escalation point for end-user support while helping drive operational improvements, device lifecycle management, infrastructure stability, and overall user experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day deskside support and infrastructure operations within a Microsoft and Azure‑based environment.
- Provide hands‑on technical support for complex endpoint, infrastructure, and user support issues, acting as the primary escalation point for the support team.
- Oversee laptop and endpoint lifecycle management, including provisioning, imaging, deployment, patching, maintenance, and refresh activities.
- Support and administer Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, and related collaboration tools.
- Provide leadership and direction around IT support processes, service delivery standards, and operational best practices.
- Coordinate support activities across internal IT teams, vendors, and external service providers to ensure stable and secure technology operations.
- Assist in developing and improving support procedures, documentation, asset management practices, and operational workflows.
- Support identity and access management activities, including provisioning, permissions management, and access troubleshooting.
- Monitor infrastructure and endpoint health, proactively identifying and addressing operational risks and recurring issues.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, cloud adoption efforts, endpoint management improvements, and continuous service enhancements.
- Support networking and connectivity troubleshooting, including VPN, DNS, DHCP, wireless connectivity, and remote access support.
- Participate in infrastructure maintenance activities, patch management, upgrades, and operational support initiatives.
- 5 8 years of experience in infrastructure support, deskside support, or IT operations environments.
- Previous experience acting as a technical lead, team lead, supervisor, or manager within an IT support or infrastructure operations function.
- Strong hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft enterprise environments, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Windows endpoints.
- Experience supporting modern digital workplace environments, including hybrid/cloud‑based infrastructure and endpoint management platforms.
- Strong experience with laptop/desktop support, imaging, device deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP, and wireless networking.
- Experience working within structured IT support environments utilizing ticketing systems, SLAs, and support workflows.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and end‑user support skills in professional enterprise environments.
- Ability to balance hands‑on technical responsibilities with operational leadership and support coordination activities.
- Experience supporting hybrid Azure cloud infrastructure environments.
- Power Shell or scripting experience for automation and operational efficiencies.
- Experience supporting IT operational process improvements or service transformation initiatives.
- Microsoft, Azure, ITIL, or related infrastructure certifications.
- Experience with in fast‑paced enterprise or customer‑facing environments.
