The Opportunity
As Test Lead in our Canadian Banking Technology Consulting team within the Platforms group, you’ll play a key role in delivering technology solutions for financial institutions. You’ll work directly on projects involving modernization, data migration, cloud migration, and core banking transformation. You’ll collaborate with clients and project teams to execute strategies, solve technical challenges, and ensure successful delivery of solutions.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Lead overall test planning and strategy, including SIT, UAT, defect management, and day‑to‑day test coordination activities.
- Act as a Test Lead with hands‑on involvement in execution and delivery of QA initiatives.
- Independently lead, execute internal and client teams to meet program timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Assess risks, issues and proactively mitigate to seek resolution.
- Manage QA efforts for complex systems, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Drive and oversee automation and performance testing initiatives, leading teams within testing delivery engagements.
- Coordinate activities across onshore and offshore teams to ensure seamless communication and consistent delivery.
- Implement and leverage cloud‑based testing strategies across environments such as Azure, Git Hub, and Google Cloud.
- Drive efficient defect lifecycle management using tools such as JIRA, ALM, or Test Rail.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, promoting QA best practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to ensure testing strategies align with business goals and long‑term objectives.
- Manage and lead distributed teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and delivery excellence.
- Explore and drive adoption of AI‑assisted testing tools such as Git Hub Copilot or Claude to accelerate testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Proven experience in client‑facing testing delivery, defect management and QA governance.
- Hands‑on experience with test automation and performance testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Git Hub, Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience with QA tools such as JIRA, ALM, or Test Rail.
- Exposure to AI‑powered testing tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, Claude) is a strong plus.
- Proven experience in building or leveraging AI agents for test prep, analysis, execution and defect management is a major differentiator.
- Experience working in client‑facing roles within fast‑paced environments.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholder relationships and distributed teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- 7‑8 years of experience in quality engineering, testing, or test leadership roles.
- Proven experience working as a Test Lead or Senior Tester in complex delivery engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in banking/financial services or regulated industries is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience in consulting, ideally in financial services and banking.
- Ability to work with diverse teams, including software vendors and sub‑contractors, in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- On‑site work with clients in the GTA 2–3 days a week is required.
