Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Network Systems & Security Specialist (10+ years) to lead Data Center architecture design upgrades and network security enhancements.
Join a high-impact technical team supporting Toronto Water infrastructure modernization across multiple facilities. This role drives design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of advanced Cisco network equipment and cybersecurity upgrades for critical infrastructure. It offers hands‑on involvement in data center, control systems, and operations network projects ensuring compliance with industry standards. The assignment supports essential connectivity and protection of municipal water operations.
Contract, Toronto, Onsite
Must Haves- 10+ years of Cisco Enterprise design, configuration, implementation, and testing experience across Data Centre and Campus networks
- Expert‑level competency in Cisco Nexus platforms (Spine leaf / VXLAN) and Cisco ACI Architecture
- Valid Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification in positive standing
- Experience with Cyber Security and network protection technologies, including ASA/Firepower and IPS
- Post‑secondary education in computer science, information technology, or related discipline
- Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
- ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environment within water/wastewater facilities
- Design and implement Data Center Server Access Layer upgrades and related infrastructure
- Provide technical guidance on network equipment replacement, firewall/IPS upgrades, and security policy documentation
- Gather site requirements and plan, design, implement, and commission network changes
- Perform configuration, connectivity testing, and network performance analysis
- Conduct ongoing network health assessments and recommend operational improvements
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation and standards supporting critical facility networks
- Support operational troubleshooting, maintenance, and after‑hours network changes as required
