Position SummaryFacility Association is seeking an Application Systems Analyst to join our IT team. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal IT teams to support the Association’s core business applications and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for assigned applications, ensuring system stability, resolving production issues, and delivering small enhancements that improve usability, efficiency, and business outcomes. This role plays an important part in maintaining reliable systems that support the organization’s operations and strategic goals.
Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be required during system releases or incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities Application Support- Provide ongoing support for assigned business applications, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution.
- Escalate and coordinate Level 2 support issues with external vendors as needed.
- Develop strong application knowledge to become the internal escalation point for complex or recurring issues.
- Monitor application performance, availability, and data integrity, proactively identifying potential issues.
- Perform functional troubleshooting, configuration updates, and data corrections as required.
- Ensure incidents, service requests, and problems are properly documented and managed through the IT service management system.
- Support application deployments, releases, and patches, including validation and post‑release monitoring.
- Ensure systems operate in compliance with security, data privacy, and IT audit controls.
- Design, test, and implement small application enhancements and configuration changes.
- Support the business Product Owner in managing the application backlog.
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
- Conduct impact analysis and recommend improvements to business processes or system functionality.
- Create and maintain functional specifications, test plans, and user documentation.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and production rollout of enhancements.
- Identify recurring issues or manual processes and propose automation or efficiency improvements.
- Act as a liaison between business teams, vendors, and internal IT teams.
- Manage support tickets and coordinate resolution activities.
- Provide guidance and training to end users when required.
- Communicate clearly regarding issue status, enhancement timelines, and potential risks.
- Post-secondary degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in application support or systems analysis.
- Experience with in the Property & Casualty insurance industry is an asset, particularly in automobile insurance.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, scripting, and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and cloud-based applications, with hands‑on experience supporting integrations.
- Experience working with SaaS and cloud-based platforms.
- Hands‑on experience supporting applications in a production environment.
